Joseph "Alpha-Red" Emont

Although a new face in the DJ scene, his journey has been a long and complicated one. From the chrysalis stages of childhood to the findings of true teenage self, Joseph "Alpha Red" Emont has become a true pioneer in electronica.

Growing up, Joseph lived in, and experienced much of the United States. Born in Rochester, New York, and ending up in the greater Los Angeles area, he is here to stay along with new ideas from different culture he has collected along the way.

Music has always been a regular part of his life and offered an escape not only in an aural sense but also in a visual way. Early on he took on the piano, as well as violin and most recently the guitar. "It�s a method of expression---a healer." Joseph has found that the right music types can often heal the worst conditions. For the heart, mind, body and, soul. "It�s a medium that invokes a state of synesthesia within the brain, and is one of the most necessary and primitive expressions of all humanity."

Always having been heavily slanted as a dreamer, he�s searched for the ideals that have been lost from yesteryear. As visions appear to him from different levels of consciousness, so do new musical ideas. "The goal is always finding that energy balance�" Joseph is a firm believer that help comes when one is truly ready to receive it. The teachings of Julia Cameron have allowed Joseph to further unlock his creative destiny with exercises that allow him to trust the power of the one great being that connects all things.

His signature smooth, flowing progressive rhythms encompass sounds that take the listeners on a journey through strange landscapes and starry plains. Joseph�s sets are never similar as he is extensively analogous to many different styles of music.

Many of his influences include: Paul Oakenfold, John Digweed, Sasha, DJ Tiesto and early works of the original Electric Skychurch, these have become his examples over the years. Many rock bands such as Tool, Incubus, New Order and Rage Against the Machine have also had much to do with his progression to his present stature.

Joseph "Alpha-Red" Emont is now being represented by John Gocha' at Planet Earth Records. He is excited to make his break onto the LA club scene and his debut album is to be released soon.
